Colton Dexter Samuels of Anytown, TX, died on Aug. 8, 2020, at the too-young age of 55, of entirely preventable causes.
Colton was born on May 18, 1965, to Martin and Dexter "Sam" Samuels of Houston, TX. He was by most accounts an adorable baby, bringing joy to all who knew him. He loved riding his ATV with his siblings, Carrie and Carter, and he was so good at BMX racing that his trophies covered an entire wall of the family home.
He studied hard to become an electrician just like his mom and was a proud member of IBEW Local 1234. He was most proud of his commercial projects, including supervising the team wiring the new ABC Building in downtown Houston.
Unfortunately, life is not fair, and Colton was taken too soon by Covid-19. His family urges others to learn from what happened to him and adjust their behavior appropriately. Any death is devastating, but there's an extra sting when it could have been prevented by common sense safety measures.
Colton is survived by his parents and siblings. He will be cremated Aug. 17 after a small family service. In lieu of flowers, please just spread the word about his cause of death.
