Bradley Carrington died May 18, 2021 at age 82 in Anytown, CA. In life he was many things, but none were more important to him than the role of Grandpa.
He leaves behind nine grandchildren, each of which was his favorite.
Brad was born April 2, 1939, the same year The Wizard of Oz was released. This is fitting, as he encouraged wonder and magic everywhere he went. One of his pastimes was doing magic tricks at parties, and his grandchild were constantly wondering how he "got their nose" or where that flatulence sound came from.
He graduated from CSU, Fullerton in 1960 with a degree in history. He worked at Disneyland in the Magic Shop for several years before returning to school for his teaching credential. Brad, or "Mr. Caring," as his students called him, went on to teach high school history classes until his retirement in 2005. He referred to all students as "my kids," regardless of ability of temperament.
Brad leaves behind his wife, Rose, and four children (Susan, Dominique, Cheryl, and Minnie), along with his grandchildren. His sister, Denise, preceded him death in 2002.
Jacob will be cremated, and an attempt will be made to scatter some of them in a secret, magical location (shh!). A casual memorial service will be held June 6 so as not to interfere with final exams. All former students are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship in his name at Anytown High School.
