Neil didn’t win races. He wasn’t a star stud. But none of that mattered, because he was our family’s beloved horse. Neil died June 4, 2022, of natural causes.
For 25 years, Neil spent most of his time eating us out of house and home. But he earned his keep as a beloved transporter of children, sniffer of clover, and snorffler of apples. He liked having his dappled coat groomed, and tolerated the occasional mane-and-tail braiding. But what Neil enjoyed most of all was walking tall and proud in the annual Anytown Independence Day parade. No one could wear a red, white, and blue ribbon as majestically as Neil.
There will never be another horse like Neil. Please remember him fondly.
