Letter of Recommendation

   Musician Obituary

Graham “Grimey” Grimes died in Anytown, Calif., on March 17, 2023 at age 68, but his music remains timeless.

Anyone who lives in the Northstate and loves classic rock knew Grimey before he hit it big. He played lead guitar and sang in too many cover bands to name, but it was as a solo act late in his career that he became known internationally.

After signing to a major label and cutting his first album, Grime Time, at the ripe old age of 52, Grimey went on tour and gained a legion of fans. He graced the cover of the magazine in February 2012, the month his second record went platinum. His death was first reported by Rolling Stone.

Grimey always said that he never regretted not making in big in his younger days, because as a working local musician, he was able to be home with his kids: Baxter Joseph, Rory Buckingham, and Michelle Leigh (now known as Mirelle on Broadway.)

Grimey is survived by his three children as well as two much-appreciated ex-wives, Lily and Cambria. Anyone worried about his dog, Landslide, will be happy to know that she has already moved in with Cambria.

No services will be held, but Grimey posted a final Instagram Reel the week before his death urging his fans to “rock on.”
