After struggling with long-term effects from Covid-19 for more than a year, Susanna Louise Richardson died May 8, 2021 at age 41 in Anytown, CA.
Susie is survived by her parents (Louise and Jacob), her daughter Millie, and her sister, Josie. Josie cared for Susie as her health continued to decline, was her greatest advocate for medical care, and was by her side when she passed.
Susie was born April 3, 1980. She loved beadwork, the color turquoise, and gardening. Above all, she loved being a mom. Like everything in her life, Susie rose to the challenge of single motherhood after the death of her husband, Gary.
She graduated from Anytown University's nursing school in 2002 and spent most of her career as an ICU nurse at Anytown General Hospital, which is where she contracted Covid-19 in April 2020. Until Millie's birth in 2010, Susie worked yearly with Doctors Without Borders, including stints in Honduras and Malaysia.
Susie was preceded in death by her husband Gary in 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to Millie's college fund in care of her aunt Josie. Pledges to any reputable humanitarian aid organization would also be appreciated. No services will be held.
