Juanita Marie Lopez died Aug. 20, 2020, at a hospice in Sylmar, CA, due to esophageal cancer. She was 62.
Juanita was born March 15, 1958, in Los Angeles, CA to Juan and Maria Lopez. She was the third of three girls, and her papa used to joke that she was the most precious of them all. But her sisters Ana and Lucia insist that he told them the same thing.
Juanita graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a business degree, following that up with an MBA from USC. She liked to joke that she bled Bruin blue and Trojan red. She had a long and successful career managing corporations, and had spent the last 10 years as president and CEO of Widgets International.
During treatment for cancer, Juanita read the entire In Death series by J. D. Robb and crocheted eight afghans, which were ultimately donated to the hospice.
Juanita was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, her two sisters, and six nephews. A mass will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please support your local hospice.
